A little about us…
We’ve been married for 12 years!
We have a 6-year-old little boy, who we adopted in 2020
We love to travel - whether it’s to our favorite coastal beach town, Walt Disney World, or somewhere we have never been - travel is a HUGE part of our life.
We have 4 dogs - 2 big and 2 small!
We live in Georgia, close to the mountains and the city, so there is always a new adventure just down the road.
OUR HEART FOR ADOPTION
After a few years of marriage, many nieces and nephews, friends with babies and watching each other mature, we knew we were ready to begin our journey of building our own family. We researched, leaned on friends and family, each other, and prayed about what our hearts and God was leading us towards. Adoption seemed to be around us in more ways that we expected after meeting with a few organizations we were ready to begin our private adoption journey. As we stepped into the process we knew that it was important we were a place of comfort, safety, encouragement and most importantly love - not just for our future child but for their birth family as well.
In February 2020, we got the call and had been chosen by an incredibly brave and wonderful birth family - a little boy who is the most precious gift we have been given. We can say now, looking back, God has his hand in every piece of our story and the fact that we were chosen to protect him, guide and nurture him, challenge him and love him deeply for the rest of his life is the honor of our life. Now, as we step into the adoption journey for a second time and having seen first hand the gift of adoption, we are cemented in the fact that this is the exact path our family is meant to be on.
We are honored to be able to say that we are a part of the adoptive community and wait to add another child to our family.

Adoption has on our hearts since the beginning of our relationship and and time went on, we knew that we were being called to grow our family through adoption, full stop. I (Devon) was diagnosed with endometriosis as a teenager and knew that having biological children would be a challenge - but that didnt change the desire to one day have a family. I shared this with Chris early in our relationship and not once did he waver in his support of her or the journey they might face one day, he calmly said “we will figure it out when the time comes.” And he kept that promise all those years later. For that, I am forever thankful for this incredible partner God brought me.
We talked constantly about our future, and it always circled back to leaning into our faith and trusting in God and the reminder that He is the one with the plan, He knows the timing and “if we are supposed to have a family, it will happen just the way He has planned it.” We were lucky enough to see the incredible gift of adoption through a close family friend, so we leaned on them and their guidance on how to navigate the waters ahead.

The Beach
Let me take a minute to tell you about Devon, the beautiful mama of this family. She loves fiercely, is impossibly creative, and passionate about anything she puts her mind to. She is my amazing partner in this wonderful life that we have built, and I couldn’t imagine a single day without her by my side. Her favorite moments are often the simplest ones, spending time together as a family, snuggling on the couch with our son, and making our home feel warm, joyful, and full of love.
Devon has built a career creating meaningful experiences and loves bringing people together, whether through large-scale events or special moments with family and friends. Watching her passion, creativity, and care come to life in everything she does has been one of the greatest joys of my life and I can’t wait to watch her become a mom of 2.

The Beach
Devon here, I wanted to take a minute to share more about Chris, all the things that make him... well him and why he makes the most amazing dad, husband, partner and best friend. He truly is the yin to my yang, the calm to my chaos, the action to my planning, and the one always ready to jump in and “just” go. He truly epitomizes this picture on a daily bases, always in the driver seat. He is our steady hand, our fearless leader, and usually the one getting us where we need to be, both literally and figuratively.
He truly is one of the most incredible people that I know, and is beyond anything I could have dreamed or wished for in a partner. He has never met a stranger, instantly makes you feel like you have known him for years, genuinely cares about your thoughts and feelings and loves like no other. He is hard-working, trustworthy, empathetic, kind, passionate, loving, authentic, carefree and has an incredible sense of humor. But most of all, he is grounded in who he is, in his faith and in the love that he has for his family.
I cannot wait to step into this next adventure with him!
